Catalogues

Catalogues and Content Management

Catalogue purchasing is one of the strongest approaches to contract compliance within your organization. By pre-selecting vendors and products available for purchase, you achieve control over maverick spend and bring speed and efficiency to the procurement process as a whole.

The solution consists of two main aspects:

  • A powerful catalogue search engine for item selection
  • A maintenance and management process for creating and amending catalogue content.

The Catalogue Search Engine

Your user will access the catalogue directly from your procurement tool (the catalogue "plug-in" can connect to several different ERP technologies). It's a simple 3 click steps to find and select products:

  • Search
  • Review and compare
  • Add quantity and order

Searching can be achieved in several ways. From the simple keyword to a drill-down search within your chosen product category, users can then view all the details of the results, including images. They can select several products and compare them side by side. They can also see associated products such as ink cartridges for printers.

A catalogue item can also include services with "smart forms." An example would be taxi services. The users select the origin, the destination and the options. This would also apply to business cards where the user would input his contact details for ordering.

Catalogue Management as a Service

There are several communication and validation aspects to the maintenance of electronic catalogues. Quadrem has positioned itself between the buyer and its suppliers to simplify this process.

In short, you can avoid the following maintenance tasks:

  • Create a standard for catalogue import and export
  • Send, receive, cleanse and verify supplier catalogs
  • Check modified, deleted and added items, verify duplicates
  • Follow-up with your buyers to validate the new or updated catalogue
  • Publish the catalogue to the users
  • Maintain security, logs, access etc.

Our tools are flexible enough to adapt to the changing needs and constraints of the client systems. In addition, Quadrem has developed extensive expertise in creating validation rules as well as validation reports and version comparison.
